When you live in a home surrounded by bushland why not take advantage of the beautiful views?
That’s what Southhaven Aged Care at Padstow Heights has done, after their new Bluegum wing was officially opened this week.
The addition opens the Home to 21 more residents in a secure area, which was specifically designed for people with dementia and cognitive difficulties.
The shared rooms look out onto stunning bushland, with full-length windows that let the residents appreciate the view. The rooms also come with adjustable lighting that aims to instil a sense of calm.
Residents are free to wander around their rooms, the lounge area and outside into a secure garden area.
There’s also a classic 1950s-style kitchen that allows residents to engage in familiar household activities in a safe environment.
Vintage items around the Home also help residents feel comfortable in their surroundings and aid in reminiscence therapy.
There are still permanent and respite vacancies available in the Bluegum wing. For more information please contact 1800 246 637.
