This year has been full of entertaining programs, activities and events that have helped residents continue to be creative, form friendships, keep active and laugh out loud.
Drop into any of our eight Homes and you may see residents cheering as they are crowned shuffleboard or bowls champion, hear some of the old classic songs played on piano, guitar or saxophone, or smell delicious treats being created at a cooking class.
Christadelphian Aged Care has dedicated Leisure and Lifestyle teams within all our Homes. The teams create activity programs which encourage residents to continue to live social and active lives among friends.
There are regular activities such as bingo, art classes, movie nights, armchair travel and trivia, along with special events and visits from a variety of entertainers.
This year Olympic fever swept through our Homes and the residents were involved in opening and closing ceremonies, torch relays and competitive games, while also watching the action live from Rio on big screens.
Residents also helped celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday this year, with high teas, trivia and even some royal visits.
Car and motorbike enthusiasts enjoyed checking out some old classics when local clubs visited our Padstow, Illawarra and Central Coast Homes.
Feathered and four-legged friends brought smiles to residents’ faces as part of our pet therapy programs.
There were regular outings in our buses, including a very entertaining trip to the circus.
Birthdays are always special, and there were plenty of parties at our Homes, especially for a number of our residents who turned 100 or more this year.
Special events such as Winterfest celebrations, Father’s Day fetes and annual fairs topped off an incredibly entertaining year for residents.
