From Tasmania with love

Christadelphian Aged Care resident

Residents from our Albion Park Home received a special delivery from Tasmania to help cope with the colder weather.

Mrs Rhonda Ward is the mother-in-law of one of our staff, and lives in Tasmania where she has been busy knitting scarves, mittens and beanies for our residents at Ridgeview.

Rhonda enjoys knitting and says it keeps her busy during the cold Tasmanian months. It also made her happy to know that she was able to do something for the elderly within our Home.

Volunteer and Pastoral Care Coordiinator Michelle Chate said the winter months were well and truly being felt by our elderly residents.

“These special gifts all the way from Tasmania brought big smiles to our residents,” she said.

The mittens were a big hit and “they are easy to put on and keep your fingers cosy warm,” resident Patricia said.

Another resident, Jorma, told Michelle the story of how he grew up in Finland and how it was essential to wear a beanie every day.

He continues to wear beanies every day and was delighted to receive one in his favourite colours of green and brown.

Thank you Rhonda for your kindness and bringing joy to our residents at Ridgeview.
