Residents travelled the world through food, music and dance this year, and fostered community connections.
It’s been a jam-packed year of exciting events, outings and lifestyle programs at Christadelphian Aged Care that inspired our residents to keep active, socialise, and laugh!
A new initiative across all our Homes has been the introduction of buffet breakfasts to give residents more nutritious choices to start their day well.
Our Homes have also been trialling the BrainTrainerPlus program to boost cognitive wellness among our residents. The touchscreen games and quizzes engage their minds, and also allow for some fun and competitiveness among their friends. The program is easily adaptable for everyone, and so far the feedback as been positive.

Ashburn House, Gladesville
The Wellbeing team at Ashburn House always try to go above and beyond to create entertaining activities for our residents, especially for the monthly cultural celebrations.
This year they celebrated a range of countries and cultures, including those from Mexico, Nepal, the Middle East, and India. Staff donned cultural outfits, and residents enjoyed different cuisines, and many opportunities to dance!
As part of their Intergenerational Program residents visited a local childcare centre and enjoyed morning tea with the children. They then received a return visit from the children which strengthened the beautiful bond between young and old.

Market Day was one of the biggest highlights of the year at Courtlands, where residents enjoyed
different food, drink and games stalls.
They also had fun during their cultural celebrations, in particular Mexican festivities, and Lunar New Year when they were treated to dance performances.
The regular ice cream trolley is always a hit, and this year it was converted to a Cocoa Bar during the cooler months.
The Winterfest afternoon saw the dining room transformed into a winter wonderland, and a number of High Teas were held throughout the year with a delicious selection of treats.
Our Independent Living residents went on some fabulous outings this year, including to the Hydro Majestic in Leura, Sea Life in Sydney, and a range of different cafes and restaurants.
Maranatha, Kallangur
A highlight at Maranatha this year was NAIDOC Week celebrations, which acknowledged our First Nations peoples, in particular our Indigenous residents and staff.
There were talks, videos, food and games that allowed everyone to learn more about First Nations cultures and histories.
Maranatha loves to celebrate special days, and this year Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and EKKA week were enthusiastically acknowledged with food, music and lots of laughter.
In the Village, Niva took over from Renee as Independent Living’s Wellbeing Coordinator. She has enjoyed getting to know the ILU residents in their homes, during activities, and on bus trips, and has helped to coordinate activities.
Northcourt, North Parramatta
Music is a big part of life at Northcourt, and residents and staff enjoy listening to tunes from all around the world. This year they also had opportunities to dance, sing karaoke, listen to entertainers, and meditate to soothing melodies.
Cooking was also popular, whether it was pancakes, biscuits, cakes, brownies, or a sausage sizzle for the annual resident BBQ Day, when family and friends enjoy lunch together in the backyard.
Many residents have green thumbs and spent much time in the garden. One resident even developed a low-maintenance watering system!
