Thank you for the 3 wonderful years Mum had with you. You gave her a new lease of life. You told her about your lives, your families and she often said living there was like being part of a big family. Thanks for making her laugh, thanks for the curried prawns and rice. Thanks for caring.

On Dec 2nd, Thomas became a resident at Southhaven Nursing Home, which was very close to his home in Riverwood. We only have the highest praise for the staff at Southhaven, for their care at every level - emotionally and physically.....for Thomas and the family. Within the first 2 days of his arrival, a new chair and additional equipment specifically for his needs was purchased. We could not have wished for a more caring environment for Thomas during these last weeks when family and friends were able to visit regularly. Thomas was very happy and smiling and celebrated his 79th birthday with his extended family. The family donated money in lieu of flowers to Christadelphian Aged Care to show their appreciation.

“…I do love still to be connected to Southhaven after so many years of being a volunteer. The staff are wonderful and it says a whole lot by the fact that so many who were working there when I first started volunteering, are still there today. You all do such a great job in caring for the residents and I respect all of you for the love and attention you give from the heart and not just because it is your job. God bless you all!”

As you know, as a husband of a resident, I couldn't be happier about Ridgeview, it's facilities, it's management and what I find most pleasing of all for a nursing home, it boasts an atmosphere which tends to belie its basic purpose. There is little doubt that nursing homes are viewed by members of the public in general as a place where people go to die. If that is a true scenario then any such place that manages to maintain an atmosphere such as exists in Ridgeview, would be entitled to view itself as an example to others.

I write to say thank you a million times for the way you, Kim, have welcomed my family, especially, my dad, George Edwin Marie, to Southaven. It's been such an emotional time for my whole family dealing with dad's poor health and mental state as well as our mother's. Kim, I cannot stress how much your kind words during our first visit, your caring manner and wealth of experience at the home and over the phone as well as incredible patience, have helped my family understand the needs of the elderly. We are slowly learning that sometimes the heart gets in the way of rational thoughts and what is best for Dad's wellbeing is to be at Southaven where he will receive the care that he deserves and one which we cannot provide at home. On behalf of my family, thank you again Kim,

My father, David Holt, recently had respite care in your facility. I would just like to congratulate you on the wonderful service your nursing home provides. I have been visiting nursing homes since I was a girl, first with my grandmother, then with my aunt. As my grandmother was moved quite a few times over twenty years, I have seen quite a few. Ashburn House is the best I've ever seen. It is kept in immaculate condition and is beautifully decorated. Above all, the staff are tremendous. I'll never forget the beaming smile with which my father was welcomed back by staff, after I'd taken him out for the day. He was truly welcomed and cared for. I am very grateful and thank you.

I would like to take this opportunity to let you know how overwhelmed my family is by the high standard of care and the facilities provided to our father, Earle Godbee since he has been at the Christadelphian Homes - Bushview. To look for any placement in hurried and stressful circumstances I knew would never be easy, but from the first telephone contact with Kim Howard, I felt I might have found "the" place. My brother and I did compare other facilities, and although your driveway scared the daylights out of us initially, it has become just another road and nothing to fear since then. On that first day when we went to inspect your facilities Kim Howard allayed all our fears. Both my brother and I agreed that we had found someone we felt at home with and someone we could discuss any problems with at any time. Kim took us on a tour, showed us the room dad would occupy, gave us the opportunity to talk with some of the residents and I was absolutely impressed when she left us alone with them to get their true comments without having any fear of reprisals or favours. We witnessed numerous staff/resident interactions that showed there was a very positive "tone" within the place. This is something that was of paramount importance to us. My family now raves about every single member of your staff that we have met. They are so personable, polite and extremely prompt with their care. I can only think that a place like this is one in a million. I believe staff are happy and dedicated if they are somewhere they love to be, and generally that comes from the top down, so I'd like to congratulate Management and in particular Kim Howard for all she has done for us over the past 3 weeks.

Two weeks ago, just by chance when looking for care options for our father and sister, we came across Chamberlain Gardens. We went in without an appointment and you made time to see us. You were friendly and caring and explained our options clearly. Both are now settled and very happy. You and the staff have been extremely helpful and supportive along the way and for that we are very grateful. Christine from the laundry was very accommodating and Sarah from the care staff was just lovely with Jim. To move from the family home is a big step to take but all the staff involved made the transition as seamless as possible. A huge thank you to you and all the people involved, it has been a very positive experience.

Maranatha is a very caring Home and as volunteers we aim to maintain this by bringing to our residents joy, contentment, encouragement, comfort - or maybe just a listening ear and a hug. I am very grateful for the numerous educational\training sessions that I have been able to participate in and the opportunity to use this knowledge in helping the residents. It is great to work with the RAO's and Volunteer Coordinator who appreciate our help with the excellent activities they organise for the residents.

We wanted to say thanks so much for helping my family. We are so incredibly happy with Ridgeview and the staff have been so kind to my Mum. It's been the worst time for us,but knowing she is being cared for has made things so much easier. My sister rang Mum last night and Mum said she didn't know where she was but the people were very kind to her. I know in time they will all become friends. We are so glad we found your Nursing Home.

On behalf of my family and myself I would like to say thank you to all concerned with looking after Evan during his four years at Ashburn House. A number of staff need a special mention. Our very first contact at Ashburn was with Stephen whose bright and cheery greetings really made a difference. It is his happy demeanour that made us choose to join Ashburn House community. When Evan heard Stephen’s wonderful Irish voice he would always look up with a smile. Stephen made entertainment events fun and memorable. My family and I appreciated his ‘Grand’ help and he really makes things happen! Libby formed a close bond with Evan from the very start. She took the trouble to really get to know about him and what he cared about, and from that knowledge created special activities which related to his life — he really loved her visits. Cora and Barbara (now retired), always attended to meeting the needs of Evan and the other residents – whether it be the mundane day-to-day activities or organising more involved family meetings that needed Skype and phone three-way chats. Asha and Shirley, the front desk ladies, always so cheery, friendly and helpful, are the face of Ashburn House and a welcoming sight who really connect with the families — whether in happy or difficult times. Special thanks must go to the Staff who worked in the Kimberly wing.

In my endeavour to find the meaning of the word “Maranatha” I found the answer to be somewhat complex but to put an answer into simple terms it goes back to the Aramaic word meaning “The Lord is coming’ – something we should keep in mind. I came to Maranatha firstly as a respite resident and after two such visits I decided it was the place for me to call home. I moved in early in the year 2011 and whilst I’m still perhaps a newcomer I have always felt very much at home and very happy. Naturally it’s not an easy decision to make but I have no regrets. The comfortable accommodation, the cheerfulness, care and compassion shown to and by all is something money doesn't buy. Apart from staff a great team of volunteers is always on hand always willing to share their time in whatever area they may be needed. At present the buildings are currently being upgraded with improvements in many area to add to our comfort and convenience. I’m looking forward to enjoying more years yet within The Christadelphian Aged Care.

Many compliments to Sharon for organising the Art Show cocktail evening and to all the staff who helped make it such a success. It was wonderful for all of us - staff, residents and family - to see and appreciate the many talents of the residents. I know many were amazed at the standard of work my Mum had been able to produce in her "former" life. It was terrific to see her pleasure at having her work on show. Southhaven has been my Mother's home for the past 18 months. Whenever I visit the Nursing Home it is always light, clean, quiet and orderly - but best of all is the welcome and the feeling of belonging when I come through the door. Whether it is staff or a visitor, everyone has a smile or a quick greeting. Staff have always been willing to bring me up-to-date with events or information about my family member and go out of their way to make residents comfortable and happy in their abode. Dear Kerry, On behalf of my mother and family I would like to take this opportunity to give many thanks to you and the dedicated staff at Maranatha for the wonderful service given. We are truly humbled by the care and compassion shown to mum, who has settled well into her new environment. One of the hardest decisions we have had to make for mum was to find her a cared living arrangement that we felt could advantage her. We wanted somewhere she could be as independent as possible in a shared situation and most of all where she could be happy. After visiting several other Aged Care Facilities we came to Maranatha. I can honestly say from the very first visit, to be welcomed by you, it was clear that this was what we were looking for. This became more apparent as we were shown around. The warmth, empathy and understanding of the situation that we felt through that first meeting was so reassuring .There was no question that this was what we wanted for mum, a facility presenting with a warm homely feeling and busy atmosphere. The move for mum has given her the opportunity to become socially involved with others and with the gentle sensitive encouragement has seen her become involved in all areas at Maranatha. The attentiveness of the staff is outstanding and the genuine concern makes it feel like family. Placing our mother in care has been a huge emotional event for our family but made so comfortable by all staff who have made themselves available to answer our queries or concerns. From the moment mum arrived she was made to feel very welcome and special. Thanks again to all the wonderful staff of Maranatha.

The McCluskey and Grubmier families would like to personally thank you, Kim, for helping Mum and Dad through this most difficult and life changing time. The many Nursing home facilities Steve, Mum and I have been to over this last year did not provide us with all the helpful information in relation to Respite care and permanent care as you did at our meetings. Your support over matters of concern to us over the phone and face to face during Dad’s Respite month helped us through this experience. The family are also very grateful to you and Peter for permanent placement for Dad (Leslie McCluskey) into Southhaven Nursing home, thank you so much.It would be thoughtless of us not to mention, we have found all the staff are all very kind and considerate in the care they provide to all the residents. Veronica in particular is understanding and very supportive in helping us manage the issues Dad has experienced during his time at Southhaven.

It is indeed a pleasure when one stumbles across something that just grabs your attention. Your facility has just done that. Lisa made herself available to take us on a tour and answer the many questions we posed to her. The staff have been absolutely wonderful and helpful. Christine, your laundry lady goes about her business with such exuberance and apparent efficiency. So while our journey through your facility is relatively new, it is refreshing and re-assuring that we have made the right decision for our loved one. To you and your staff, many thanks.
